From Internet TV to viewable apps, Samsung has pushed the boundaries of television entertainment for years. However, with the recent lackluster performance of 3D hardware, the electronics giant is looking to invigorate the equipment not only with improved specifications, but also with social media and more applications. The new inclusion of real-time social media apps creates an interesting new take on Internet marketing for businesses and corporations spanning the globe.

Samsung and Social Media

High-end televisions from Samsung can already download and use certain applications through Internet TV. These applications have been rather limited though, with few actually providing any kind of worth wild content. Outside of the streaming services of Hulu and Netflix, most apps didn't enhance the television viewing experience. Instead of bringing up the current Facebook or Twitter applications that are available now, which require a user to exit out of the TV program, Samsung aims to bring side-scrolling media applications to the forefront. With these Internet TV apps, a user brings up a side-scrolling bar without exiting out of the television or video programming. This way, people can update their status, post video clips, and check in with their current programming viewing. Facebook and Twitter (according to Yahoo! ) already allows users to check in while visiting restaurants, but with the new features Samsung aims to offer, users are able to check into the program and share their programming schedule with other friends on the social medial website.
